The Pine River Varsity Soccer Team played an outstanding game Thursday against the Lakeview Wildcats.  Although Junior Dalten Sible had a season-high 28 saves we were unable to get the ball into the net and fell 0-2 in district play.  Our record does not reflect the huge improvements we made this season. In our first meeting with Lakeview we lost by mercy at the 73:42 second mark.  In our second game the score was 1-0 at halftime. It took them an additional 30 minutes into the second half before they were able to find the net again. We did a great job adjusting to their style of offense and our defense held them near midfield a good portion of the game.  We struggled to move the ball down the field toward the goal but we were able to get quite a few shots off. We really missed the offense and Senior leadership of Ethan Underhill and Caleb Mitchell as well as freshman Jordan nelson who were all out due to injury. Everyone saw action as we played our 13th complete game of the season.  We look forward to next season as we reset our team with 12 players returning from this year’s team.
