New Faces in the High School Office

We have two new faces in the high school office for the 2019-2020 school year.  Mrs. Becky Curtis is the new counselor.  Her first day in the office was officially October 7, 2019.  She has been getting acclimated to her new role along with meeting the staff and students.  Also new to our school is Ms. Moriah Miltgen.  Moriah is a shared staff with Pine River and Marion.  She is employed through a grant that is designed to help seniors with their post secondary planning and help younger grades prepare for what senior year holds.  Below if a picture and brief biography.

Mrs Becky Curtis

Hi! My name is Mrs. Curtis and I’m the new School Counselor at the high school. I am from the Thumb area and grew up there with my three younger brothers. After graduating from high school, I attended Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. I taught 8th grade English for five years while attending WMU again for a degree in school counseling. For the past 12 years I have worked with high school students transitioning into the work and post-secondary training world through a state agency called Michigan Rehabilitation Services.

In my free time, I am busy at home with my three children and their activities and sports. I enjoy camping, biking, baking, reading, and running when I have the time. I am very excited to be the School Counselor for PRHS and be back working with students in a school setting every day!

Ms. Miltgen

Hello! My name is Moriah Miltgen and I am the College Counselor through AdviseMI/AmeriCorps. My role is to assist seniors with their post-secondary planning, and help the younger grades prepare for what senior year holds.

I grew up in this area and when I was given the opportunity to serve through the AmeriCorps right at home I knew I had to take it! I am alumni of Central Michigan University with a degree in Recreation, Play and Leisure with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in American Sign Language.

When I’m not working with students I enjoy traveling, photography and coaching!
