April 20, 2018

Note from Principal

Happy Friday! It’s so nice to see the sun shining, giving us hope that spring weather is in the near future! As the weather begins to get nicer, please be sure students are following the handbook in regards to the dress code. You can find the dress code policy on the Pine River Homepage. We look forward to seeing lots of people tonight at Touch a Truck. This event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is for all K-5 boys and their special lady (mom, grandma, etc.). Thanks to our PRPTG for organizing this event!

Parents, when dropping off your child in the morning, please remember drop off does not begin until 7:30 a.m. We do not have supervision in the building or the playground until that time. Thanks for your cooperation and have a wonderful weekend!

Congratulations to the following students who were recognized with a “Be A Buck” postcard this week:

Chance M.            Nykolaus N.

The Ned Assembly

We will host The Ned Show next Friday, April 27th during school hours. A flier came home last week explaining the show. If you are interested in purchasing a yo-yo to help with costs of the program, please send in the form and payment between Friday, April 27th and Friday, May 4th.

K-3 Kids Read Now Family Night

A form came home earlier this week with the students who signed up for our summer reading program. We ask that those who are participating come to a 20 minute presentation on Monday, April 23rd anytime between 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the elementary gym.

Joy Club

Next Wednesday, April 25th will be the last day of Joy Club for those students who attend. Please inform the office of where your child needs to go after school for the remaining Wednesdays of the year.

Becoming a Buck – (Kindergarten Round-Up)

Mark your Calendars! We are inviting all incoming kindergarteners to join us on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Pine River Area Elementary School for Becoming A Buck Night. Lots of fun activities are planned for you and your child on May 3rd and a light dinner will also be served. If you have a child who will turn five before September 1, 2018, please call ahead to (231) 768-4481 to sign-up for a packet of information.

Vision Clinic

The Vision Clinic will be coming to our school on Monday, April 30th and Tuesday, May 1st. Please make note of these dates if you signed up your child for this clinic at the beginning of the year. If you are still interested in signing up your child, please stop in the elementary office to pick up a form.

Field Trips

Field Trip season is upon us and we know many of you would like to chaperone your students on their field trip. You must have a background check on file in order to attend any field trip. We also need a copy of your driver’s license in order to run the background check. If you have already submitted a background check and copy of your license for an older child in the Middle or High School, you do not need to do so again. It covers all of our buildings. Teachers will send home this paperwork with the field trip permission slips.

Craft Club

Luther Library will host Craft Club on Thursday, April 26th at 6:00 p.m. and Friday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. The craft this month will be paper flowers. All supplies are provided for a $5 fee. If you have any questions, please call the library, 231-797-8006.
