Pine River Area Elementary News
December 8, 2017
Note from Principal
The kindergarten and first graders did a wonderful job at their Christmas concert Thursday night! They all looked so cute and sang their little hearts out. It’s such a fun event to watch! On Thursday, December 14th, our second and third graders will take the stage for their Christmas concert. Santa’s Secret Shop is also on December 12th and 13th. Be sure to send your child in with their list, their labels, and money if you would like them to participate.
Remember, the weather is very cold, so be sure to send your child in with appropriate clothing. (Boots, gloves, hats, etc.) We go outside in the morning before school, at lunch time, and another recess, so this is very important. Have a wonderful weekend with your families!
Next week, our 2nd and 3rd grade concert will take place on Thursday, December 14th. The concert starts at 6:00 p.m., with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Please have your child(ren) in their classroom between 5:30-5:45. Please have them dress in their holiday best. The students have been practicing and are excited to show all of their talents. We hope you can join us.
Behavioral Health Therpist
Pine River Area Schools has a Behavioral Health Therapist. Leslie Kibbe, who comes to Pine River from Family Health Care, is able to provide assessments, individual counseling, group therapy and/or referrals to other necessary services for Pine River students. She is able to serve all students of Pine River, regardless of an ability to pay. Secret Santa’s Workshop
Secret Santa is approaching us quickly. It will be held next Tuesday, December 12th and Wednesday, December 13th. We are having a store-like setting with items for children to purchase again this year. All items will be priced at just $1 and will be gift wrapped for students. Each classroom has a scheduled time slot for children to secretly shop for gifts to give their families and friends. Cash or checks (made payable to PRPTG) will be accepted. We are asking for volunteers and also donations of gift bags and/or wrapping paper. We will also need lots of scotch tape. You may contact us on Facebook or contact Mindy Wien at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you haven’t and would like to volunteer, please fill out a background check and turn it into the office. The background checks are available in the elementary office. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
