A Note from the Principal
What a great week it has been! Time sure is flying though, and Spring is in the air. Remember there is no school on Friday, April 14th. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family. See you all on Monday!
“Be A Buck” Students
Congratulations to the following students who were recognized with a “Be A Buck” postcard during the week of April 10-13, 2017:
Once again this year, the Pine River Friends of the Middle School and Pine River Parent Teacher Group are joining together to hold our Annual Spring Carnival. It will be held Friday, May 5th from 5:30-7:30 at the Pine River Middle School. We will be hosting many fun games, cotton candy, concessions, a bounce house, theme baskets, silent auctions, and chances to win lots of other great prizes!
We will need LOTS of parent volunteers to help make the evening successful. Help is needed for the concessions, games, tickets, set up, clean up, etc.
Don’t forget your donation to the wonderful theme baskets again this year! So many people enjoy winning these every year! If you have any questions or would like to donate for the ‘Chance to Win’ prizes, please contact Holly Lockhart at 231-342-5951 or email@example.com or Kelly Workman at 231-920-0275 or firstname.lastname@example.org. As always we thank you for supporting the Friends of the Middle School and the PRPTG!!!
Becoming a Buck – (Kindergarten Round-Up)
Mark your Calendars! We are inviting all incoming kindergarteners to join us on Thursday, May 11th, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Pine River Area Elementary School for Becoming A Buck Night. Lots of fun activities are planned for you and your child on May 11. A light dinner will also be served. If you have a child who will turn five before September 1, 2017, please call ahead to (231) 768-4481 to sign-up for a packet of information.
Please take special note of the special Mother’s Day Fundraiser that the PRPTG group has put together for all of us. The PRPTG group has arranged with Patterson’s Flowers for your mom or other loved one to pick up a wrapped bouquet every month for “12 Months of Flowers!” The cost is only $30 and all orders need to be returned by April 26.
“Coming soon to a theater near you – The Dastardly Dr. Devereaux, presented by PRHS Drama!
Will the evil Dr. Devereaux win the Lotta Cash’s hand in marriage – along with her fortune? Will our hero, Dr. Phil Good save Nurse Wendy March from certain death? With an abundance of zany patients, wild tunes, and a hilarious plot – this musical melodrama will have you in stitches! As they say – Nurses! Foiled again!
Show times are Friday and Saturday, April 21st-22nd at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 23rd at 3 p.m. All shows are at the Pine River Elementary School in LeRoy. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students and children.”

Lost and Found
We have accumulated a lot of hats and mittens over the winter and we would like them to go back home with you if they are your child’s. So please stop by and check out our lost and found for lost items today! Our lost and found is just inside our entrance door. All items not claimed by April 21, 2017, will be donated. Also, if you or someone in your family left a pair of glasses here, possibly while they were attending an event here, please stop by the office to identify them.
Change to End of Day Pick up Procedures
In a continuing effort to improve our school’s security and in preparation for the building changes that will occur over the summer, we will be changing how your child is picked up from the elementary. Look for these changes to occur in the next several weeks. Thanks for your patience while we all make adjustments to make our school better than ever!
