Pine River Area Schools
Immediate Release
Pine River Middle School/High School was placed in a HOLD today following a reported threatening statement found within the high school. In response, staff immediately activated safety protocols to secure all students and staff in their classrooms.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene, with Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police assisting in the investigation. Multiple K-9 units were deployed to conduct a thorough search. After careful assessment, authorities determined it was safe to resume normal activities, and students and staff were allowed to continue their school day.
Throughout the event, all students and staff remained safe and accounted for. Law enforcement agencies will continue to investigate the incident to ensure the ongoing safety of our school community.
We want to thank the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police for their quick response and dedication to student safety. Additionally, we appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of our students, staff, families, and the community during this event. The safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority.
