Over the weekend, Pine River Area Schools was notified that a student attending our high school has tested positive for COVID-19. The student in question has siblings in each building.
While we are waiting on guidance from the Central Michigan Health Department, and out of an abundance of caution, Pine River Area Schools will be closed on Monday, October 26 AND Tuesday, October 27, 2020. In following our established, internal protocols, we are using Monday and Tuesday in order to deep clean all district buildings and complete contact tracing. We hope to reopen on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. The next two days will be treated like snow days, with no instruction.
All contact tracing is handled by the Health Department. If you do not receive a phone call from the Health Department, there is no further action needed at this time.
All extra-curricular and athletic meetings, events, contests and practices are canceled during this time. We will continue to update Pine River families as we get more information.
