The PRHS Outdoor Environmental Science class completed their Fall Camping Trip to the school’s property at Woodpecker Flats. Students worked in small groups to build shelters from specific terrains around the world. Throughout the next few days, they will create an informative presentation including pictures of their shelter and real shelters from their specific area. The students definitely worked hard on their projects, but they also had time to play a good ole game of hide & seek in the dark, make s’mores (one student had never had one before!) and hobo pies, played Euchre and Uno, and sat around the bonfire listening to music and chatting. They were thankful and appreciative of the opportunity to go on the trip. Kudos to Mr. Thompson for all of his hard work prepping food and organizing the trip!

Dear PRAS Parents/Guardians,
Subject: Changes to Bus Pass Availability for the 2023-2024 School Year
Pine River Area School District is off to a great start of the 2023-2024 school year. Though we want to bring to your attention an important update regarding our bus transportation services.
Due to the shortage of bus drivers and reduction of routes, our buses are at full capacity. As a result, we are compelled to suspend the issuance of bus passes until further notice. This decision has been made with the safety and well-being of our students as our top priority. We understand that this may pose an inconvenience for some families, and we apologize for any disruption this may cause.
We are actively recruiting bus drivers, so if you know of anyone who would like to work part time as a bus driver, we currently offer the pay rates of $18.50 - $23.00 per hour. We will re-evaluate the bus pass situation if we are able to add additional routes in the future and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate through this situation together.
In addition, we are also looking to hire substitute employees to work on occasion as a substitute food service cashier or cook, custodian or paraprofessional. This is a great opportunity for parents or retirees looking to earn a little extra doing something very important for our students and entire school community. If interested, please contact the Central Office at 231-829-3841, Ext. 1.
Thank you for your continued support of Pine River Area Schools. Go Bucks!
Sincerely,
Michelle Gill
Superintendent
As PR and Evart play their annual armed forces game we would like to remind all of our service men and women that they are guests of honor at this event and receive free admission. We will also be offering shirts with this logo during the game and profits will go to the Local VFW and National Military Families Association.
PRAS Community,
Friday's football game is referred to as the “Armed Forces” game. Continuing with the tradition, Pine River and Evart will play for the traveling Armed Forces trophy for the fourteenth time. The Trophy is currently held by the Wildcats.
More importantly, this game is a way for the communities and programs to honor those who have served or are serving in the military. We owe a great deal of thanks to all the men and women who have fought for our freedom. The two teams combine donations from the JV and varsity games, taking turns donating to organizations that support our veterans. This year's funds will be split evenly between the local VFW Post 7979 in Evart and Operation Purple of the National Military Family Association.
To date over $13,000 has been raised and donated to local and national organizations to help veterans and active military members as a result of this game and the generosity of our two great communities. Come out Friday night to support our Veterans and teams, enjoy the game, have a free hot dog and enter the game for free. Thank you for your continued support and continuing the tradition. Go Bucks!
