Yummm, yesterday was Thanksgiving lunch at the Elementary School. Today, the MS/HS had Thanksgiving dinner for lunch. The biggest hit was the sugar-free pumpkin fluff. The recipe is super easy: one large box of vanilla pudding (sugar-free, made as instructed on the package), one large container of Cool Whip, one can of pumpkin puree and a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Delicious! Many thanks to our food service team at each building for providing a delicious Thanksgiving meal! Well done!
We're thankful for all of our employees and students and hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving next week.

Good Morning All,
Please remember that the back and front entry doors at the Middle and High Schools open at 7:30 a.m. for students to enter the building. Prior to that, students are not allowed in the building unless they are in a zero hour course and are supervised by their zero hour teacher. Students who are children of staff members must remain with and be supervised by the staff member until 7:30 a.m. Staff members should not let students in the building until 7:30 a.m. at which time supervision is available. Thank you for your cooperation!

Thanks to our Booster club, those that donated to our wrestling fundraiser, and a generous donation by Craig and Cherokee Nelson of Titan Tradesman Electrical we now have a hoist to properly store wrestling mats! They have been eating up space and being moved repeatedly for YEARS.

On Thursday, November 14th, the High School put on our 2nd annual Student Professional Development Day! Students spent the day talking with representatives from colleges, businesses, and other careers, listened to some of our Alumni present on what pathways they took after leaving Pine River and what they’re doing now, and attending sessions on building skills for the real world. We are so grateful to have community members, colleges, and business come to our school and give this opportunity to our students! Thank you to our students for representing PR so well, all our presenters for coming in and our staff for putting this on for our students! A huge thank you to Ms. Miltgen for all the work she put in behind the scenes to make this day great!

We are hoping that you can assist our Hall of Fame committee in contacting the members of the 1988 VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM.
Please share this post or contact any members pictured here and encourage them to contact Kim Miller at 231-829-3141, ext 8 or kim.miller@pineriver.org
Thank you!

Good Afternoon, Please review the attached memo because we have a confirmed case of a high school 9th grade student having Pertussis, also known as Whooping Cough, which is highly contagious but treated with antibiotics. This student has not been at school since 11/6. If your child has a serious cough, please get them tested. Also keep in mind that it can take several days to weeks to develop in those who have been exposed.
Thank you and stay well,
Superintendent Gill

November is Children's Grief Awarness Month which provides us an opportunity to raise awareness about the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child and to make sure they receive the support they need. The Pine River Area School District is working with Michael's Place to provide grief support groups for our students soon. If your child or children have been impacted by the loss of someone close to them, please let the school principal know.
The Michael's Place support group provides space and time to offer students the ability to increase healthy coping skills while reducing harmful grief reactions, improves their ability to communicate their needs to others, and normalizes grief experiences through peer support. All of these tools help to mitigate the impact of grief on academic functioning and provide life long skills.
