Happy Friday,

Have you heard about the Michigan State Police Department's VIP program?
The VIP program allows parent and/or guardians of individuals with special needs to enroll their fingerprints and/or photograph of their loved ones into a secure police agency statewide database. This information can be used to assist in identifying the VIP should he/she become lost in the future or find him/herself in a situation in which he/she cannot identify him/herself. Once enrolled in the VIP program, law enforcement has the ability to utilize a Live Scan device or mobile fingerprint scanner to access the information to quickly identify a VIP who may have trouble identifying him/herself.
The Parent Advisory Committee is collaborating with the Michigan State Police for free fingerprinting for those who would like to enroll in the VIP program.
Contact: Terryl Kovacevich- tkovacevich@wmisd.org
for more information or questions about enrolling.
For more information regarding the VIP program visit www.mi.gov/MSP-VIP
