Pine River is hosting a financial aid night on February 4th for those that have questions or need help filling out the FAFSA forms.

Monday, January 27th, 7 of our HS Band members joined approximately 90 of their peers from across the region for the MSBOA District 1 All-Star Band. This year was exceptional as it was led by internationally recognized composer Randall Standridge, which was exciting for the students and directors alike! The renowned composer traveled to Michigan from Arkansas to serve as the All-Star Band Director for over 100 students in District 1. The young musicians rehearsed with the esteemed composer for nearly 6 hours and performed a concert for family and friends. Mr. Standridge helped students grow musically, but also set aside time to talk in depth about his project: "The UnBroken Project", and the importance of mental health. It was a once in a lifetime experience that allowed students to meet and talk with a living composer. Well done, everyone!

The Pine River middle and high school lunch ladies are ready for Neon Spirit Day 2025, serving up walking tacos or wings today!

January is Mental Health & Wellness Month. Pine River Area Schools, along with the Wexford Missaukee ISD and Family Health Care organization, support our students mental health in a variety of ways. We offer three social workers, two counselors, three student success coordinators, two deans of students, one assistant principal and three principals. In addition, our paraprofessionals, teachers and secretaries play vital roles in supporting our students every day. We also provide social, emotional learning (SEL) instruction, a high school leadership program focused on student support, grief support groups, National Honor Society and we have a presenter coming to the high school on March 12th. Another new partnership we have is with ParentGuidance.org which offers many free resources for our families. During January's Mental Health & Wellness Month, I want to thank ALL of our employees and partners for supporting our students and staff!
With PRide,
Superintendent Michelle Gill

Despite 65% of the population being eligible, only 3% of Americans currently donate blood. Share the love and be a hero by donating blood to help save lives!
The blood supply is dangerously low this winter. We need to try and do our part to help. The PR National Honor Society is holding a blood drive in the high school gymnasium on Thursday, February 6th. Appointments are available from 8:30 AM until 2:15 PM for both whole blood and double red donations. Please use the following link to sign up! 16 year olds will need to have a signed parental consent form, which is attached. Extra copies are available in the office for students as well. Please bring your photo ID. Please consider helping out by donating if you can!
